wasted: "Barbara Streisand would vote for a farm animal over Bush, not to mention Joseph Stalin or Fidel Castro."

Are you saying you WOULDN'T vote for a farm animal over Stalin or Castro?!?
.

For those of you democrats so concerned about the estimated civilian casualties in Iraq (which I do find terrible and pray for the families of Iraq), where was the righteous indignation at those killed and tortured by Saddam for nearly 30 years?

Also, I wish that the left would come to be as outraged by the greatest tragedy of our time - millions upon millions of babies killed before they could take their first breath, first steps, say their first words. All done in the name of "choice." These babies did nothing to deserve the horrific pain and dismemberment they are put through prior to their death, other than being born.

wasted potential

Sorry, the last word in that post should have been conceived, not born. They are not allowed to be born.

That's all you Republicans have. "Kerry is stiff. You guys don't really like Kerry. Kerry looks French and his wife is really really rich. Ketchup Ketchup Wind Surfing Wind Surfing blah blah blah blah " What the fuck is wrong with you people? All spin no substance. Republican is just a way of life to you.

T. Kosciusko

>>Almost nobody wants to vote for [Kerry]<<

Solid thinking by Our Leader. As long as we consider half the country as "almost nobody", it helps ensure that we are divided. This is essential for Our Leader's re-election.

Jeffraham - no, my intent was to say she would vote for a farm animal, but would prefer to vote for Castro and Stalin.

I am not comparing Kerry to Castro and Stalin. My only intent was to state that this group of people led by hatred for Bush and social conservatives (which I do not read you as being one of them) would lead them to vote for a farm animal, Stalin or Castro, rather than the President.

By the way - looks like they released the intelligence thing on Thursday (you know - VOTE FOR KERRY OR WE WILL HURT YOU), or is there yet another "bomb" to drop by the left?

By the way, did you read my post about starting our own News sight/blog? I think we could pull it off and have people spinning in no time!

Phoenician in a time of Romans

Spider: "Phoenician in a time of Romans ~ Yea, I remember 9/11 you heartless shit. Let's pretend that Saddam had something to do with 9/11 which, at this point, only the mentally challenged cling to."

Look, Bush, Chaney, Rumsfeld, Rice - they all have been implying the link between Saddam and Al Qaeda. Either America is led by a bunch of bald-faced liars, or Saddam was indeed involved. And the Administration's record of nothing but openness, honesty and forthrightness shows which is more likely.

Spider: "Doesn't killing 33 times the people make us seem like bigger dicks then Bin Laden? Was that the goal? AMERICA! We can kill more civilians then Bin Laden any day of the week."

Come ON, Spider - everybody knows America doesn't kill innocent civilians. The vast majority of them were terrorists slavering for our troops, with perhaps a few dozen collateral damage casualties who were probably cheering on the terrorists anyhow.

Spider: "Liberation my ass. Tell that to the father who carries their dead child from the rubble of their home."

And do you have proof that that so-called "father" didn't take up arms against our troops liberating his country afterwards? NO! That goes to show he was a terrorist all along.

Spider: "You represent everything that holds this country back."

Rubbish. I represent all that is decent and reasonable about the true conservative base supporting President Bush.

Spider Jerusalem

You mean all the people Saddam killed with the weapons we gave him? Ask Rumsfeld about it. He was the one shining up Saddams ass after he killed all those people.

For the record, abortions went UP under Bush. That is the opposite of LESS abortions. You think banning abortions will stop them? Instead there will be teenage girls trying to abort themselves. Instead of funding birth control Bush puts money into Jesus. Jesus isn't going to lower abortions unless he starts passing out condoms.

Go Bush!

I never said the "bomb" would be dropped by the left -- INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY INTEL COMMUNITY.

I saw that, but don't really see the point in it. There's enough such blogs to hang the world.

Oh, and... yeah, I was pulling yer leg about the farm animal thing. :)

>>>>>>Look, Bush, Chaney, Rumsfeld, Rice - they all have been implying the link between Saddam and Al Qaeda

That's because they knew that people who can't think for themselves, like you, would eat it up like a pudding pie. They didn't fool most of the country. They didn't fool the 9/11 Commission. Republicans are easy prey because they bend over and take whatever their party wants to give them. Party of Fiscal Responsibility? Here shove this deficit up your ass.

>>>> America doesn't kill innocent civilians. The vast majority of them were terrorists slavering for our troops,

So when Bush was busy telling you the insurgence was just a SMALL group and Rumsfeld was telling us it was the same looter over and over you didn't believe them? Certainly, you always believed it was really hundreds of thousands of enemies in the streets because you are a great free thinker. Look out Nietzsche!

>>>>And do you have proof that that so-called "father" didn't take up arms against our troops liberating his country

That is the most pathetic case of denial I have seen. 100,000 dead and you want us to pretend they were all evil-doers. Read the report. It clearly states the majority were WOMAN AND CHILDRED!!!

>>>> true conservative base

If conservative now equals scary cult filled with blind yes men, then I agree.

Spider - Clinton funded the slaughter and dismemberment of the unborn with my tax dollars for 8 years, not just here but abroad. Bush ended that practice right off the bat and will never allow my tax dollars (money I work for) to be spent on the killing of babies. Kerry already has said he will do this.

If free people want to murder their own children because our perverted law allows it, I cannot do anything for them but pray.

As to the Iraqi thing, it is an old, tired attack that we supported Saddam. We supported him in his war against Iran, that was all. He was hardly a puppet for the US government, to think so flies in the face of logic.

Finally, the war on Iraq is part of the larger effort to defeat terrorism by bringing freedom and democracy to the area, defeating the ideology that we are at war with. But you know, I ain't as well spoken as Senator Kerry, so I will let him make the case by quoting him from November 2001:

"I have no doubt, I've never had any doubt--and I've said this publicly--about our ability to be successful in Afghanistan. We are and we will be. The larger issue, John, is what happens afterwards. How do we now turn attention ultimately to Saddam Hussein? How do we deal with the larger Muslim world? What is our foreign policy going to be to drain the swamp of terrorism on a global basis?"

John Kerry has alwasy held one position on Iraq, if that is true, then it is the same as the President's.

Spider,
If the young girls went to church they would know about self control and cautiousness while dating. Instead most young people tend to regard abortion as birth control. It's that easy and who cares. Right? The last thing we need is a President to advocate this belief . We need someone like Bush who would reinforce the culture of life. Encouraging churches to promote good values in this morally degenerate soceity full of psychiatrists and lawyers, that in my opinion is a good investment. Investing in Jesus, you say . Better invest in Jesus than invest in trial lawyers.

Mr. Nationalist

Only a deeply held view of life will change behaviors leading to abortion. But, thanks to our lovely liberalism we're too diverse a people to really sustain a cogent view of life.

Abortions will go on regardless of who is elected. Me? I'm investing in coat hanger stock.

wasted potential

Spider - Investing in Jesus is a personal investment and one that I pray all of us make.

Spider Jerusalem

wasted - Oh yes and your tax dollars are safe in the hands of Bush. I've got news for you. Abortion isn't going anywhere. Whether you like it or not you are the minority and you always will be. The woman in this country are going to sit down and let religious ideology take away their human rights. You hate abortion? Good. Teach your kids how to avoid getting pregnant. If we knew how to take care of our children we wouldn't have to force anything down people throats.

>>>> As to the Iraqi thing, it is an old, tired attack that we supported Saddam

So does time allow us the right to be hypocrites? After Iraq's defeat in Kuwait, Shias in Southern Iraq launched a popular uprising against the Baghdad regime. Following the Shias' lead, the Kurds in the North also revolted. Within two weeks, 15 of Iraq's 18 provinces were free of government control. However the U.S., at the last moment, decided NOT to support the rebellion and, as a result, Saddam's forces crushed the revolt throughout Iraq.

And regardless of how much of a threat Kerry believed Iraq might have been - he didn't fucking invade the country. Show me one quote that has him saying invasion in the only way. Talk about tired - you all twist words until I want to hit my fucking head against the wall.

And for Christ Sakes! Clinton isn't President anymore. Give us all a God Damned break! Everything is still Clinton Clinton Clinton. And they are the same kind of attacks as Kerry's attacks. Based in hate instead of fact.

Spider Jerusalem

>>>> If the young girls went to church they would know about self control and cautiousness while dating.

And only Jesus can teach self control right? Without Jesus we would all be a bunch of bad people? Have a bit more faith in mankind. It is possible for people to be good without your fairy tales and threats of burning in hell if we aren't all good soldiers for God.

To support Bush because of abortions tells me you don't give a shit about a child once they are born.

wasted potential

Not true. The fact is the Supreme Court is 1-2 votes away from overturning Roe vs. Wade, or at least limiting it as a "right." By the way, does anyone really think that the founding fathers thought that when they wrote the Constitution, the provided the right to kill unborn children?

But I digress. Anyway, with Rehnquist, Stevens, O' Connor and possibly Ginsburg on the edge of retirement over the next 4 years, the next President could change abortion law in this country. That is why it is also important that we pickup additional Senate seats. Going to lose one in Illinois, maybe Colorado (hard for the Christian conservatives to get excited about a beer magnate), but we should pickup in NC, LA, FL and I pray SD. AK and OK looked scary for a while, but the large Bush voting block in those states should carry those over for us. That would put us up to 53 or 54.

Working with conservative democrats and removing the stonewaller Daschle, we should be able to override the filibuster and get the judicial nominees out for votes.

By the way, this whole logic that "Hey, people are going to have elicit sex and still get their own abortions even if it is outlawed, so lets make it legal," is not a logical argument. Its like saying "Hey, people are going to murder each other anyway, so let's make it legal" or "Hey, people are going to steal anyway, so lets make it legal."

Spider Jerusalem

>>> Investing in Jesus is a personal investment and one that I pray all of us make.

And I hope for a day when people don't believe Jesus is the only way. I hope for the day when people can respect the beliefs of others without trying to change the world in the image they believe is right. I hope for a day when people can believe in the strength and good will within ourselves regardless of religion. I hope for a day when people don't believe in a God who will punish you with eternity of suffering in Hell if you don't live life as He tells you.

Haven't enough people died in the name of your God? Pray for the unborn babies but the new born babies in Iraq died liberated so it is okay. You are all so twisted. There used to be a beauty in religion. I am afraid that beauty dies a bit more each day when it is represented by people today.

Spider Jerusalem

The Supreme Court will become irrelevant when they start taking away rights that people already have. There is only so much people can take and, if you haven't noticed, people are really starting to get sick of people like you trying to take control of our lives as if you are some moral authority.

Jeffraham Prestonian

I want to address a point of wasted potential's, but first...

SPIDER JERUSALEM! CHILL, BRU! *** Browbeating people about their spiritual beliefs is worst than useless, and it's not very nice, either. You've managed to wig out on one of the funnier satirists here, AND piss ME off for attacking an intelligent member of the opposition. Slow down, take a breath.

Okay, that said...

wasted: "Finally, the war on Iraq is part of the larger effort to defeat terrorism by bringing freedom and democracy to the area, defeating the ideology that we are at war with."

I'll try this again, wasted -- Do you not see "freedom at gunpoint" as being a bit like "converting lesbianism to heterosexuality via rape"?
.

wasted potential

Spider - Wow! Seems like we might have some anger problems (by the way, don't hit your head against the wall because some dim-whitted conservative Christian disagrees with you). I fundamentally reject that the killing of babies is a human right.

The only reason I mentioned Clinton was that he was the first to federally fund abortions as President. Kerry has said he would do the same. I do not want to return to that policy.

As to your attack of my faith - it is your right as an American. That's the great thing about this country, you can speak your mind, and so am I, so here is my speech - The Christian faith actually teaches that we are all sinners and only the blood of Christ can cleanse us. By believing in Him, we do not become better than anyone else, just cleansed from our sins. We're like beggars who have found bread - still beggars, but fortunate enought to have found the Bread of Life.

God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to eternal life. That's all, no more preaching tonight.

The Rev. Jerry Gloryhole

Seems we are suggesting that abortion is Kerry's fatal weakness. Polls do not support this meme, no matter our feelings. As a pastor, I cannot accept the killing of Christian babies, though I do feel a certain negligence in my heart when poor non-believers want one.
Anyone not in line for Rapture is questionably human, after all.

Spider Jerusalem

My intention isn't to attack one person. My attacks are meant for all of us. We are all responsible for this mess. Am I angry? No. Not in the slightest. At this point I wouldn't even say I am passionate. But I am fed up. I am fed up with people who don't know how to wake the fuck up and look at the world around them outside of the box that is their religion or their political party. I want us all to work together but I know it will take a few lifetimes before that happens, if we start paying attention to it now. You might think I am rude? Well, I guess I am. But I am honest about how I feel and how I feel is a reflection of this country. Right now it is stuck in the toilet and there isn't a plunder in sight.
