That's what one of you asked in a post...Is his goose cooked? Well, no, but he did himself no favors with that phony-baloney hunting trip.
He must've thought that what's good for the goose is good for the pander.
My instincts are that the Massachusetts Senator is too late trying to prove he lives in Guyville (ignore the apparent obscure Chicago music scene reference - I'm referring to Mike McCurry's comment about Kerry still needing prove what kind of guy he is).
Someone asked about Michigan - I've been asking those same questions, given the good polls, plus our visits, all in the face of Johnny Apple's NY Times semi-obituary of our Michigan campaign. Folks, it's real. We've got to boost our margins in a few places, but we have a real shot at winning there.
Can someone tell me what today's rational for not getting Bin Laden in Tora Bora?
It was reported way back that we had him cornered.
Now I hear we are saying we didn't have him, never had him. Which sounds like a lie.
How do I "save appearences" on this...how do we spin this?

Oh yes, it is VERY true that GWB is leading in Michigan - by 4 points. The bigger issue is, will the DNC prevent our votes from being counted with their election day "litigation fest"? Our office received a DNC fax requesting paralegals and attorneys to volunteer at any and all precincts in order to file lawsuits all day on election day in behalf of the DNC. The premise is that for every lawsuit that can be filed at a precinct, that precinct will not be able to finalize their vote totals until resolution of the lawsuit. This fax came directly from the Michigan Democratic State Central Comittee in Lansing.

When Kerry dresses up and plays, a goose dies. When Bush dresses up and plays on an aircraft carrier claiming "mission accomplished. waving and smiling, he sows the seeds to the deaths of 1,115 troops and injuries of 8,984 and spending of $140,234,551,000 in Iraq (and counting).
Who is more dangerous to our nation's future?
Kerry may pander, but Bush & Co. meanders (into the abyss).

Well, it's about getting to know the candidates, the good, the bad and the ugly.
I attended a speach by Jack Kemp this past Thursday here in Miami.
He reminded us that Lt. Commander Kerry met with the North Vietnamese communists in Paris; that he is featured in the Communist Museum of the ex-Saigon, where he is hailed as " a great champion of our cause"; that he was in Nicaragua doing phot ops, shaking hands with the Communist leader Daniel Ortega, at the same time President Reagan was pushing for funds for the Contras, who were resisiting that communist regime.
So who do think has their heart and soul in protecting America's interests? Who is John Kerry? What has he stood for for the past 20 years? We don't know him; we only know that he has taken many positions against the interests of America.
Heck, many people even assume he is Irish....Kerry is not even his real last name. It is just a fictitius brand name that helped him get elected in Boston. Phony, phony, phony.

monkey hunter,
Hunt someplace else, there are no monkeys here.
We don't "save appearances" or "spin this", we tell the truth and work it from there.
The only person "saving appearances" and "spinning his stories" every which way but looose is Kerry.

It's so good that there's a blog that covers important issues, like how Kerry looked wearing camo, rather than silly trivialities like the 1100 American soldiers killed in Iraq.

Bush signs $136B corporate tax cut bill.
"The handling of the corporate tax bill stood in contrast with Bush's action on Oct. 4 when he sat before television cameras on a stage in Des Moines, Iowa, to sign three tax-cut breaks popular with middle-class voters and revive other tax incentives for businesses." http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/apwashington_story.asp?category=1151&slug=Corporate%20Taxes

Stephanie-MI,
Make sure that that fax is legit, then send a copy of it to the news stations. Democrats are willing to do ANYTHING to get their puppet in office. This would prove that Democrats are as determined as the terrorists to accomplish their goals even to the point of abusing our legal system. That's pretty low.

I expect that people here will call me a troll - but with all due respect, don't the lies that President Bush and his team have told us Americans bother people here.?

I just learned that Arafat, a foreign leader- supports Kerry for Prez---so I am making signs for my car windows-Arafat Endorses Kerry-and am planning to take long slow rides through the liberal stronghold of New York City. Its a very important message to get out-The NYT won't do it.

I don't like the Wolves ad. I think it could have been made much stronger by not mentioning policy and simply relying on allegory like the "Bear in the Woods" ad or even sadly, the Democrats Eagle and Ostrich ad.
I'd love to see the ad reshot with a new voice over. "There are wolves in the woods waiting to strike. Some say that if we stay away from the woods, the wolves won't hurt us. Others have found out that the wolves will attack any sign of weakness. (Shot of wolf eating a piece of meat.) Knowing they're out there wouldn't it be wiser to take the fight to the wolves, rather than waiting for their attack?" Last shot shows wolves moving out.
I think such an ad would better capture the menace that we face and the difference in approaches between President Bush and John Kerry.
Go Bush!!!

President Bush has been asked in many public forums to tell the American voters whether or not he favors overturning Roe v. Wade. He has repeatedly declined to speak from his heart about this matter. I would like to hear him answer on this matter. Would anyone else here like to hear him discuss this.?

Claire, let's not forget the terrorists endorse Bush. I've got links if'n ya want em.

well, Iran supports bush...so that sounds like a wash to me.

Hey Tucker, I think Bush is going to win this one by more than people are thinking right now. I think he'll win most of the contested states (where Kerry needs an overwhelming majority of those in order to get a close victory) and I think Bush will also take an unexpected state. What state that isn't being talked about as a swing state do you think the President has a good shot at picking up? My prediction is New Jersey.

I don't agree with most of what Bush says but, and I've really looked at this, I can't find a single thing John Kerry is right about. Really.

Gallup Poll.
Oct 26, 2000.
Gore down by 14 points....
but Gore won popular vote by 500k.
things that make you go hmmmm.

It's past time to whip out the Arafat endorsement. No need to hype it up, just repeat what was reported on World Net Daily. Everyone who's last name isn't Clinton knows what a monster he is, this is precisely the reason George Bush will not deal with him. In my opinion, isolating Arafat was the bravest and brightest thing that President Bush has done to date, and highlighting Arafat's preference with Kerry would ensure that both are done for.

It's funny. I mean, no offense to the Prez's great campaign. but the puppy ad is being kind of lampooned. Are we tough conservatives really all that scared by some cute furry puppies?
I mean, if they were diseased and salivating like Al-Qaeda maybe, but cute puppies. I don't know.
